Story/Setting:
It is the summer before your final year at RuneSmith's College of Magic. You and some friends have just been tasked with a summer project of practicing the Runic Magic skills learned over the past few years by protecting a local town and surrounding areas. After receiving the assignment you and your friends have decided to see which of you has made the most of your studies and create a contest to see who can defeat the most enemies by the end of the day. Armed with your best deck and with semesters of knowledge at your disposal you set out with friends in tow to defend the town and showcase your skills.
Mechanic:
Azti Runes is a turn-based card combat game. When a player joins the game they can select from one of four pre-made decks focused on either offense, defense, utility, or a balance of all three. Inside the game different enemy types can be found patrolling unique locations and upon colliding with a player will create an arena and start a duel. Up to four players and four AI controlled enemies can duel against each other. When combat begins, each player will draw 5 cards from their respective decks and play one card per turn. Every card has a mana cost and an effect that can target allies or enemies depending on the card type. Points are awarded to the sorcerer who scores the final blow when defeating an enemy. After the global 5:00 minute timer ends all scores are tallied up and displayed on a scores screen for all to see.
